    Gentlemen:

It meant a great deal to me to see you out there at the Boston Breast Cancer 3Day. What a wonderful thing you do to encourage men’s involvement in the cause. Often it is forgotten that men, too, are deeply affected by a diagnosis when it happens to someone they love. And let’s not forget the 2000 men per year who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Thank you for all you do. You guys were so uplifting! Fantastic!

Thank you for walking the Boston 3 Day. You were motivating, humorous and kept our spirits up when we wanted to quit. I’m not sure if you will ever understand how inspiring you are. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you on the next Boston 3 Day!!

Boston 08 was my first walk. It was great singing with you in the library on Day 1 – what a way to cheer up a gloomy afternoon! I look forward to seeing you in 2009.

    Sincerely,
    Joanne

I just read your post at Friends 2 Friends. Thank you for post with us. As a b/c survivor, I can only say thank you from my heart. I could never had walked this terrifying road without my dear husband to hold my hand and sometimes hold me up. I live in GA and would love to see your group expanding all over USA. May God bless each of you with a healthy, happy 2009.

    Men With Heart,

I was just forwarded your link from my teammate on the 3-Day. I’m part of the Boston Pink Sox and have walked with you two times now. The first was in 2006 and then again in 2008. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 so was having chemo during the walk – I was thinking of all of you the whole time! I am now 32 and am planning my next walk in 2010.

I cannot tell you how much your group means to me. The first year I walked I was touched at your involvment. There’s nothing on the walk that will make you smile more than a group of men singing and displaying their “new item – with wings” on their backs. This year was much different. I was not the 30 year old that was unstoppable, I was a recovering cancer patient. I knew my body had changed, but never realized how much until day 2! It took a lot for me to finish, especially after a WET day 1. At the end of day 2, your group was standing near the end and kept cheering us on, as they had been the entire time. You will never know how much that encouragement helped with the last leg.

In the end, as the men walked by the survivors at closing ceremony, I realized how important your group was to me. You were all going thru this journey willing to offer anything you had to help us get thru our struggles, all with a smile on your face.

I am so honored to walk in Boston with your group. I wish you all a happy and healthy year and no blisters in the coming years.

Much love from smack dab in the middle of the U.S.

I just read Nebraska’s letter & cannot say it any better. Nebraska & I are tentmates and best of all friends through the BC 3Day. Ironically, I was diagnosed 7 months before Nebraska. Tentmates beware!!Unfortunately she was unable to participate in 2007, I crewed. So the 2008 walk meant so much more because I (we) are survivors. When I first walked in 2004, MWH was a small group and it is aweinspiring to see how much your team has grown. It is important for other men to see the support that MWH offers. You certainly make the event fun as well. I have a picture from 2006, the third day, a member of MWH handing me “wings”. I chuckle every time I see that picture. Of course now chemo has knocked that out of me!!! I look forward to seeing MWH at the Breast Cancer 3Day, you are an inspiration and I hope someday one or both my boys will join your enthusiasm! Keep up the great work, Love & peace,
    -Rhode Island

I walked in the Boston 3-Day this year. The past two years I have walked in Seattle (which is where I live). Although we had tons of community support in Seattle, there was no one like you guys. You were amazing and so kind. I just wanted to say thanks. I just finished writing my thank you letter to my family and friends and you are mentioned several times as I speak of the support we received along the way. As my cousin and I walked into camp Saturday night to a bunch of guys singing Pretty Woman, how could you help but smile, no matter how tired we were. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Men With Heart!!!
