Justin’s Cancer Walk Page
Happy almost spring(!), and I hope this finds you well.
For the third year, and the second consecutive, I have decided to help fight breast cancer by walking almost 40 miles over two days in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. The walk is this May 17&18 in Boston and I have already been training, because walking for close to 12 hours is more difficult than you might think! But that pales in comparison to what women and men (yes, that’s right) with breast cancer must endure both physically and mentally — not to mention the collective stress toll it takes on their loved ones. Every three minutes, somebody is diagnosed with this horrible disease, and 1 in 8 women will be get breast cancer in her lifetime, a truly sobering statistic that I refuse to just sit idly and accept.
So I have decided to do something about it and participate in this walk once again, but I need to raise close to $2,000, so I could really use your help. Once again, I will be walking with a wonderful group of men called Men With Heart, and we will be carrying backpacks full of supplies (medical supplies, feminine products, CHOCOLATE!) for the thousands of other walkers, many of whom have been personally affected by breast cancer. We cheer, encourage, make friendships, sing songs, and we do not go home until the very last walker has crossed the finish line.
I would REALLY appreciate anything you can do to help me, and what better way to spend a little of that big tax refund you just got?! Thank you in advance for your help and please pass this along to your social networks! Every dollar truly helps with education, research, and treatment.
Thanks in advance. I will be thinking of you during the walk.
