Events
Men with Heart participates in a variety of events on a year round basis. We encourage guys to join us in one of our overnight walks or one of our “mini” volunteer events. All it takes is for you to wear one of our signature yellow shirts and delivering our special type of enthusiasm at one of these events.
Annually MWH participates in the Avon 2-Day and Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer overnight walks. These events require a commitment in fund raising and participation during the walk. MWH is always a big part of these walks with our support and energy. In recent years in an attempt to get more guys involved, MWH has started participating in additional “bite-sized” volunteer events. Be it volunteering during benefits or helping at ½ day walks, our goal is to show men care about the fight against breast cancer. We can only do that if we have more men join us wearing our yellow shirts and delivering our own special enthusiasm.

Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk – Aug 15-17, 2008
The Komen 3-Day walk is more than a walk to raise money to fight breast cancer, it is a life changing experience. For the past six years MWH has had a team of guys walking in the Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk. We do much more than just walk, we wear bright yellow shirts, carry backpacks, sing songs and cheer on our fellow walkers. We do our best to show the other walkers and crew that men care about the fight against breast cancer.

Race for the Cure – Sunday morning Sept 7,2008
Every September the local Massachusetts Komen Affiliate organizes the Race for the Cure event at the Boston UMass Campus. This 5k Race & Walk has grown to attract more than 5,000 runners and walkers.
This year MWH is trying to assemble a team of more than 50 guys wearing MWH yellow shirts helping volunteer for the race. This is a Sunday morning event and is designed to provide an easy way to get men to participate as a part of the MWH team at breast cancer event. Our underlying goal is to have a big presence to generate more awareness and recruit guys to the team.

Healing Garden 20k Walk – Saturday, October 18th
The Healing Garden is a unique facility providing a healing environment that provides a range of complementary therapies, psychosocial support, educational programs and access to nature for those experiencing breast cancer. Located in Harvard, MA this is an amazing group that is making a difference.
