Cory’s Cancer Walk Page
In 2011, I will challenge myself in my first ever multi-day breast cancer walks: Avon Walk for Breast Cancer — 40 miles over two days; and the Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walk – 60 miles over three days. I love making a change in things and this is a great start.
Six years ago, my father passed away from esophageal cancer. It was a very traumatic experience for me and my family; he was my FATHER and HERO. I and many others have experienced cancer first hand; all the different forms of this disease are horrifying. I have chosen to start my participation in fighting this destructive disease with walks to support breast cancer. I am walking for my father and for the three most important women in my life: my wife, mother, and sister. I do not want them to have to face the battle of breast cancer.
My sponsors make it possible and encourage me to do these walks in 2011. Everyone must start somewhere to make a change and this is your chance. Stand by Men With Heart so we can all fight this disease. Support in any amount would be great and generous of you.
Thank you,
Cory

Hi Corey,
What an admirable thing to do in honor of your father. I have walked the Avon Walk and every year I do the American Cancer Society Relay for Life with a bunch of my friends. We call ourselves “Ladies Kickin Cancer”. I will gladly donate to your walk. Men with Hearts are a wonderful group of men who assist and walk during these key fundraising walks. I have such fond memories of them cheering us on, helping us cross the streets, handing out snacks at each station, most of all I remember their dedication to the cause. I wish you the best of luck, and I am proud of you for joining such an amazing bunch of men!!!

Your father was the ICAF Commandant when I was a student there in 2003. You’re right he was a very special person and a great leader. The Class of 2003 was proud to have him as our Commandant.
Thanks for honoring his memory.

Cory, your dad was my first and favorite cousin. I will always remember him.
Corey,
Good luck on your walk. Your Dad and I were not only classmates but fellow Okies. I saw your Mom at USNA for our 40th and it brought back some great memories. I think he would be proud of your efforts to honor him.
