Over the years I have donated to many causes, and there are many great organizations out there that do great things. I just happened to choose the fight for beating breast cancer. I lost friends and co-workers to this disease over the years, never really understanding the urgency to end this horrible disease.
It wasn’t until my aunt developed this disease that it really hit home. Luckily, she is currently a survivor. I can’t say enough about my aunt, she has been a second mother to me growing up. I love you Ann! (TFA)
Well a couple of years ago I decided that donating money wasn’t enough and there was no satisfaction in my life. I sought out many different organizations that needed help and none meant much to me until I saw the 3day advertised on television. I honestly teared up. From that time on I spent most of my time trying to educate people on the need to help conquer this disease. I know a cure is within my lifetime! I immediately signed up for the 3day in 2008 and knew in my heart that I will be doing it until I physically couldn’t anymore.
That is why I am writing this letter to you! I need support in walking this great journey. Everyone that walks needs to raise a minimum of $2,300. I would pay it all myself but I work 7 days a week to pay my bills.
I know there are dozens of my friends and acquaintances that say they want to help. Well if you are reading this right now…….. There are no excuses! Just $5 will go a long way. Most people can donate a minimum of $10. And if you do that, I will personally mail you a free breast cancer dream catcher. Also, this year I have several power tools that will be given out randomly to people who donate a minimum of $10. It is on the idea of a raffle, but legal issues stop me from calling it a raffle. Winners will be notified just after the drawing near the end of August.(I need to make sure people who send in checks get in the raffle)
